Véronique Lalouette

Véronique Lalouette grew up in the South African music business as the daughter of Denny Lalouette, one of South Africa’s most well-known professional bass players. She started singing professionally when she was still in school, in Grade 8, and has been performing for over two decades. Véronique, a full-time singer, actually entered the first season of The Voice SA last year but none of the coaches turned for her then. The timing of that audition coincided with when she was in a dark place in her life, but this year, she returned with a bang. Veronique belted out Tina Turner’s “River Deep, Mountain High” for the coaches and both Lira and Karen were visibly thrilled after turning for her at the same time. “I’m moved to tears by you,” Lira told Véronique. Both she and Karen raved about how proud they were of Véronique’s come-back performance, but ultimately, she chose Karen Zoid to be her coach going forward in the competition.
