The duo “Symphony” is the classic South African “brother-from-another-mother” story. Charl Esterhuizen (20) grew up in Waverley, Pretoria, before moving with his family to Emalahleni, and 27-year-old Christopher Mabasa grew up in Balmoral outside Bronkhorstspruit. Until one fateful evening when Charl walked into a bar and saw Christopher performing “Footloose” at the karaoke. Charl started singing karaoke with Christopher and the rest was history! The duo has been performing ever since in and around Emalahleni, where Christopher lives with the Esterhuizens, and now they’ve hit the big time, securing a place for themselves on #TeamKahn with their rendition of Jason Mraz’s “I’m Yours”.
