Award-winning singer/songwriter, Lady Zamar makes her, The Voice SA, debut this Sunday treating us to a titillating performance of the hits that have made her a mainstay in SA's music scene over the last, two years. Born Yamikani Janet Banda in Mamelodi, Pretoria, she started out as part of a duo called Junior Taurus. Lady Zamar elected to strike out on her own after their first album, going on to collaborate with some of the biggest House DJs in the country like Prince Kaybee, with whom she created one of 2017's biggest club-bangers, 'Charlotte'.
They'd go on to win a DStv MVCA for Song of the Year after their stellar effort. She also dropped her solo, debut album, 'King Zamar' in the same year. It not only went gold but also spawned a smash hit ('Collide') and bagged a SAMA for Best Dance Album. With a new, feel-good anthem out called, 'This Is Love' and a sophomore release, 'MONARCH' dropping tomorrow (Friday), we're beyond pscyhed for her upcoming showcase and holding thumbs for EXCLUSIVE new material come Sunday!
Joining Lady Zamar on stage will be our very own Coach, Francois Van Coke and if his last, electrifying performance with Riky is anything to go by, we're certainly in for another thriller. Lastly, one of SA's most celebrated choir's, The Drakensberg Boys Choir, will also be in the house with their angelic voices, tight-knit harmonies and classical training sure to elevate things to even higher levels!
