Entry Requirements for Men:

What is The Single Wives?

• The Single Wives SA is M-Net’s local version of the popular international format reality dating show.
• Six courageous women between the ages of 20 and 50, who have walked down the aisle and then suffered the pain of divorce or widowhood, will learn how to let go of their past heartache for a second chance at love.  
• In this unconventional dating show, the six ladies will live together over a six-week period during which they will undertake a crash course on life and love, to heal their wounds, restore their confidence and prepare them for re-entry into the dating scene.
• To put their new skills into practice, the six single wives will then meet potential suitors on spectacular speed dates, at dinner parties and in confidence-challenging activities.

How old should I be to enter The Single Wives?

• You need to be over the age of 25 to apply to participate in the series.

Do I have to be a South African citizen?

• You should be a South African citizen or have a valid permit or permanent residence status in the country of South Africa.

Do I need a valid passport?

• Yes, as you may be travelling on the show

Can father enter the show?

• Yes, but consent must be given to Electronic Media (Pty) Ltd and the Producers, Black Swan Media (Pty) Ltd for your children to appear on television.

Can divorcees/widows enter the show?

• Yes, given that you are legally divorced.

Can employees of the Naspers group enter the show?

• Employees of Black Swan Media (Pty) Ltd, Electronic Media Network (Pty) Ltd or the MultiChoice Group of Companies may not enter the show.

May I enter the show if I have been on other reality shows?

• Yes, given that you disclose all the reality shows you have participated in.

What do I need to send through for a valid entry?

• Two photographs and a completed application form

Will a background check be done on all entrants?

• If you are short-listed, consent must be given to the Producers to conduct background, criminal and psychometric checks. You understand that consenting to these checks is no guarantee of being chosen to participate.

What type of males is The Single Wives looking for, and do I need to meet specific criteria?

• The males need to be single and will be selected from the ages of 25.

When do entries close?

• Entries open on Monday 25 November 2019 and will close at 23:59 on 16 March 2020.

When will I be notified if I am successful or not?

• You will only be contacted by the production company for further details should your entry be shortlisted.
• Should your entry be successful and shortlisted, the production company will contact you within 60 days of receipt of your application.

May I enter the show more than once to improve my chances?

• Multiple entries per person are not permitted.
• Entries are only valid if correctly submitted on the entry platform.

Do I have to agree to all the terms and conditions to enter?

• Your valid submission of your entry constitutes your binding acceptance of the terms and conditions contained herein.

Production:

How long do I need to be available for the production?

• You need to be available for filming on an ad hoc basis between 17 February and 27 March 2020.

Is wardrobe provided or do we bring our own clothes?

• We will work with the wardrobe you have to help you look your best.

Will there be hair and make-up on the show?

• There will be help and guidance to assist you to look your best.

Will there be any medical, physical or psychological screenings?

• If you are short listed by the Producers, you must be prepared to undergo psychological and medical screenings. The full details of this will be explained to you in advance.

Will we be filmed for 24 hours?

• No, as you will only be required on an ad hoc basis.

Will there be hidden cameras?

• No

Will I have access to the outside world once I am successful?

• As you will be needed on an ad hoc basis, after filming you can return to your daily life.

Where will The Single Wives house be situated?

• Gauteng

Will I be flown to Johannesburg if I'm selected?

• Should you be selected, you will be flown to Johannesburg when you are required for filming.

How many males will be a part of the show?

• There will be several men partaking in the show.

Will I be medically covered during my time on The Single Wives?

• You will be issued a specified Personal Accident policy whilst on the show, however any pre-existing or chronic medical conditions will not be covered by the production. 

Do I have to participate in every activity that is planned on the show?

• Yes, as your role on the show is to help the single wives practice their skills by participating in remarkable speed dates, glamorous dinner and cocktail parties as well as challenging activities.

Will I get paid to compete on The Single Wives?

• No, there will not be a stipend paid.

Can I quit at any stage?

• Yes

Which production company will be producing The Single Wives?

• Black Swan Media, who also produced The Voice Season 3.

On which channel will The Single Wives be screened?

• M-Net 101.
