‘Drop your buffs.’ This utterance from Nico – and the creation of a third #SurvivorSA tribe - threw the game into disarray. Here’s our summation of the state of play.
Visayas
Our newest tribe and the hard-playing Tom has seemingly landed with his bum in the butter: he has an existing alliance with Chané and he also has an Immunity Idol. He’s already propositioned Palesa, but she seems to be playing an individual game already and is far more concerned with finding Immunity Idols. Murishca is a potential swing for either Tom or Palesa – as she said, she’s ‘smack-bang in the middle of two alliances’ because Vusi's allegiances seem to be with Palesa.
Luzon
The former Mindanao alliance now in Luzon – Werner, Toni, and Jeanne - accounted for Ace in our last episode (which must have made Tom, Chané, and Annalize extremely chuffed). Now Josie is an outcast in her own tribe and could be following Ace off the island if Luzon lose in the next episode – her only hope is the hidden Immunity Idol clue that Ace was literally in a hole for! She’ll have to do a better job than Ace of locating it though… If she is the next to go, then who’ll be discarded first from that alliance of three? What other play can Josie make?
Mindanao
Tevin and PK have a bond, and after hearing about a so-called girls’ alliance in the former Mindanao, they brought Marthunis on board. But Tevin has already hinted that they may turn the tables on their MENSA colleague. Katinka has seemingly formed no alliances at all so far, while Annalize may survive a while longer because of her seemingly excellent cooking skills! One thing is for sure in this tribe: Tevin is playing the game seriously, and no-one is really safe.
Who will make it to merge? We’ll see as this fascinating game plays out!
