#MKRSA: Our 5ive fave moments from last night

News
25 June 2018
Traditional beer, flirting and more
MKR Minnie and Tee

Last night’s episode of My Kitchen Rules SA was, like ice cream in summer, quite the treat. From good food, to drama (hello strand of hair in Pashi’s food), Minnie and Tee’s Instant Restaurant evening had it all. Here are some of our standout moments.

Flirting at the shops

There’s nothing that screams “Girl Boss” like flirting up and down the frozen food section. With the clock ticking and hungry dinner guests on the way, Minnie and Tee made us all proud by throwing caution to the wind for a brief moment and making googly eyes at a friendly shop assistant. Way to jazz up pork-rib-shopping, girls!

The vibe of the evening

Minnie and Tee’s theme for their Instant Restaurant evening, ‘Feel at home’ - proved to be an unforgettable nod to the pair’s Zulu roots. Traditional headpieces, beads and calabashes found pride of place on their colourful table -  and straight out the gate, the lively pair set the tone for their evening by greeting their guests with festive ululating and offering up hearty swigs of umqombothi (traditional Zulu beer ).

David’s amazing dance moves

…And here we were thinking J’Something is the only light-foot on our My Kitchen Rules SA judging panel. Did everything not stop when our David Higgs floated into the Instant Restaurant like he was born with butter under his feet? A spectacular sight indeed.

Diego crying

Our hearts broke instantly when Diego started crying while he and Tarryn reflected on their #MKRSA journey and the pressure of cooking last. Luckily, social media was on hand to distribute virtual hugs.

The flour-bath

You learn new things everyday. Thanks, Minnie and Tee!
