Will Rox and Spoen rock or shock with their wholesome country cuisine in My Kitchen Rules South Africa?
mkrsa-2.3

At this stage of M-Net’s sizzling local cooking competition, My Kitchen Rules South Africa, five diverse pairs of home cooks are inviting their foodie competitors as well as celebrity judges David Higgs and J’Something into their homes to wow them with a uniquely themed Instant Restaurant and serving scrumptious dishes.

This week Sunday (17 June), viewers will be whisked off to Winterton in KwaZulu-Natal, where country sisters Rox and Spoen need to withstand the heat in their farm-style kitchen. Will the sisters, who have been low-key around the dinner tables to date, have organic egg on their face when the guests score their three-course meal, or will they be able to overtake spicy Durban couple Kim and Pashi, who are currently at the top of the leader board?

Soon-to-be-engaged Kim and Pashi surprised the critics with their eccentric, Indian street menu last week, earning a combined score of 66 out of a 100 from the contestants and judges. The glamorous pair shared their love for authentic street food and culture with what they named "Mumbai Nights" for starters, “Bunny Study” for mains, and “Bombay Panna Cotta” for dessert.

With this score, they placed married couple Jalal and Adrie from Rietfontein, who put together the show’s first Instant Restaurant the week before, at the bottom of the leader board. Jalal and Adrie brought flair and flavour to the table with their Moroccan feast but garnered mixed reactions from their guests.  They received a disappointing 25 out of 50 from the other home cooks, while the impressed J’Something and David Higgs gave them 36 out of 50.  Thus, leaving them with a total score of 61 out of 100 and having viewers speculate whether their competitors’ strategy overruled their taste buds.
