Legendary TV Dads

The legendary TV dads we grew up with.

Your Sunday night movie, Daddy's Home 2, has dads butting heads and creating tons of mayhem. Before you tune into this comic blockbuster, let's look at some legendary TV dads.

Danny Tanner (Full House)

He wasn’t just the dad with the apron and corny jokes. Danny Tanner was a super parent who played the role of both mum and dad.  He also dealt with his crazy brothers, a house full or hormonal females and kitchen mishaps. There was always plenty of great advice and he came through for his girls and showed us what true family love is.

Carl Winslow (Family Matters)

This fun-loving, doughnut-eating TV dad not only had to deal with his own children, but also with his pesky neighbour, Steve Urkel. His children delivered just the right amount of drama to keep this funky dad on his feet. He always ended up in a sticky mess (often caused by Steve Urkel) but always succeeded and taught his family true values.

Tim Taylor (Home Improvement)

Tim Taylor “The Tool Man” can be called the coolest TV dad. When he wasn’t diving into a DIY project, he was often “fixing” situations dealing with his three teenaged sons. His goofy approach and funny tactics always kept him one step ahead and taught his boys a lesson or two.

Red Forman (That ‘70s Show)

Probably one of the most hardcore TV dads of all time, Red Forman made The Grinch look like Santa. Red was never easy on his children or anyone else! He often had to deal with his son Eric and his zany bunch of friends. But despite it all, he always stood his ground, kept his word and raised an awesome family in the ‘70s.

Homer Simpson (The Simpsons)

The craziest TV dad of all time, the list would not be complete without the hilarious, beer-belching, loudmouth Homer Simpson. When he wasn’t strangling the life out Bart or driving Marge and Lisa crazy, he often surprised everyone and did his best with his family. Homer showed us that even the craziest of families can inspire us!
