Thor is back to fight an imminent threat to his home
Thor

It’s been two years since the battle of Sokovia and Thor find himself imprisoned and without his mighty hammer, on the other side of the universe; planet Sakaar.

He must race against time to prevent a looming Ragnarok, the destruction of his home; Asgardian civilisation. First, though, Thor must win a gladiatorial duel against a former ally and fellow Avenger, The Hulk.

If that is not steep enough, his devious brother Loki has taken over Asgard and the villain is the all-powerful Hela, a goddess of death. Hela’s motive is clear, after being erased from the Asgard narrative while her significantly less-powerful brothers basked in glory, she wants in.

This Marvel movie is Thor’s third stand-alone movie and it’s not all about explosive comic-book style moments. There are plenty tongue in cheek moments that might not necessarily leave you rolling on the floor with laughter, but leave you chuckling at the quirky humour.

Can Thor achieve the required personal growth and evolve into a king? We’ll have to wait and see; but at least we know he’s getting funnier.
