How do you jive, waltz, cha-cha, tango, mercy or quickstep your way into the hearts of M-Net viewers? And at the same time, impress a panel of esteemed judges who boast impressive CVs in the international world of dance?

The pressure is on for the second group of celebrities, and their professional dancing partners in M-Net’s dazzling new Sunday night reality show Dancing With The Stars SA.  Last week radio host and former Miss SA Liesl Laurie, retired Bafana Bafana winger Delron Buckley, acting legend Frank Opperman,  athletics coach Odessa Swarts, singer and songwriter Connell Cruise and actress Zola Nombona, discovered how difficult it is to receive a high rating from the judges – especially from the show’s technique-obsessed Tebogo Kgobokoe, whose scores varied between 3 to 5 out of 10.

Will the remaining group of six celebrities manage to surpass last week’s contenders on the leaderboard? Or will the nerves kick in after witnessing the judges’ high standards? The teams competing this week are Mzansi Magic presenter and 1Magic actress Thembisa Mdoda and her partner Devon Snell; actor and model Eden Classens from the soap Suidooster and his partner Ash-Leigh Hunter; former Blue Bulls rugby player Thando Manana and his partner Michelle Oppenshaw; Protea netball shooter Vanes-Mari du Toit and her partner Johannes Radebe, comedian Ebenhaezer Dibakwane and his partner Nombulelo Hlathi and silver screen actress Juanita de Villiers and her partner Johan Dippenaar.

In between all their moves, viewers can look forward to more spectacular group dances as well as guest performances by soprano Lynette Kenned and singing sensation Armand Joubert

Only the judges will have a say this week, but from next week Sunday, 18 February, viewers will be able to vote for their favourites as well. Do remember to pre-register to vote online or on mobile at mnet.tv/dwtssavote. Registration for voting will close every Sunday at 16:30 and no new registrations will be processed during the voting period on the Sunday evening.

The presenters for Dancing With The Stars SA are Chris Jaftha and Tracey Lange. The judging panel includes Bryan Watson, Debbie Turner, Tebogo Kgobokoe, and Jason Gilkison.

Dancing with the Stars SA airs on M-Net (DStv channel 101) on Sundays at 17:00. Join the conversation on the Dancing with the Stars Facebook page, or on Twitter and Instagram using the hashtag #DWTSSA.
