Two violins, one viola and a single cello: Meet four drop-dead gorgeous, classically-trained virtuosos, all keen to get as many people on their feet and dancing the night away each time they hit the stage or download stores.

Founded by Olivia Kotze, The Muses’ journey began in 2011, and in their time the four-piece have played the length and breadth of the country. Known for their quality productions, qualification as classically trained and being pop-prepped, the music The Muses make generates enough energy to contribute to the national power grid and light a dance floor indefinitely.

Whether it’s “Party Rock”, “Pata, Pata”, “Titanium”, “Locked out of Heaven” or “Don’t You Worry Child”, their biggest floor fillers deliver string thrills galore. Their latest album, aptly titled ‘FOUR’ sees the production of more pop songs from Bruno Mars and Nigeria’s D’Banj.

They’ve shared stages with percussionists 1st Project in their “Strings Attached” show, and combined pop, strings and big band jazz with their friends in Swing City.

The Muses are: Violin: Ashley Bodill; Violin: Olivia Kotze; Cello: Neo Buthelezi Viola: Ruby Ngoasheng.
