It’s past the halfway mark of the first season of Dancing with the Stars SA and seven remaining dance pairs are ready to hit the ballroom floor and pull out all the stops as another nail-biting elimination looms.

The couples are spending their week powering through the pain of blisters and bruises from their gruelling training schedules, learning brand new dance styles and routines in the hopes of winning over the internationally-acclaimed judging panel of Bryan Watson, Debbie Turner and Tebogo Kgobokoe, as well as garnering the votes of the viewers at home in order to secure their place in the following weeks as the road to the finale becomes shorter and shorter.

This week, the show will go on without judge and head choreographer Jason Gilkison, who is jetting off to the West End in London where he will be directing and choreographing Giovanni Pernice’s world tour, Born to Win 2018.

Jason will be back in his judging seat next week, but for this coming Sunday’s glitzy show, fans can also look forward to a special performance from local singing sensation Shekhinah, who will be performing her latest single during the live results show.

The dancing couples plan to mesmerise with the following dance styles:

Screen and stage personality Frank Opperman and Jeanné Swart take charge with a Paso Doble, while Protea Netball goal shooter, Vanes-Mari du Toit and her partner, Johannes Radebe will perform a Viennese waltz.

Television actress Zola Nombona and her partner Tebogo Mashilo will perform a rumba.

Silver screen actress Juanita De Villiers and her partner Johan Dippenaar have lined up an American Smooth, which will also be performed by actor and model Eden Classens and his partner Ash-Leigh Hunter.

Radio host and former Miss SA Liesl Laurie and her partner Ryan Hammond step up to a sultry samba.

Singer and songwriter Connell Cruise and his partner Marcella Solimeo were the first to achieve three perfect 10 scores last week, earning them a sensational 39 points out of a possible 40! But how will they step up this week with their Charleston?
