Marissa Petzer

22-year old Marissa Petzer found love when she entered The Voice SA last year – with crowd favourite and Top 4 talent Almur “Stilfontein” Marais – but she’s back this year to find even more: her own musical career. Marissa has been singing ever since her Hoërskool Swartkop days in Centurion, where she sang in the choir, took part in revues and even had Singing as a subject. After school she studied sound engineering for three years at EMENDY Multimedia Technology Institute. Despite receiving no turns from the coaches in last year’s Blind Auditions, Marissa returned with a whole lotta confidence and “A Whole Lotta Love”, courtesy of her Led Zepplin song choice. In a complete reverse of her previous experience, Marissa received four turns from all the coaches after she belted out the classic rock song. She then decided to follow in her boyfriend’s footsteps and chose Karen Zoid as her mentor for The Voice SA.
