Monique Hellenberg

33-year-old Cape Town vocal coach Monique Hellenberg was inspired to enter The Voice SA by two of her students, Zoë Modiga and Kimberley van der Ventel, who both entered Season 1 of the series! Singing has been Monique’s life ever since she first starting singing in the school choir at age 5. She studied Music and Jazz at the University of Cape Town and these days she earns her living as a singer-songwriter and a vocal coach in Cape Town. Monique is no stranger to the music industry, as she is the voice behind South African band Goldfish’s 2008 smash hit “This Is How It Goes”. Her rendition of Christina Aguilera’s “I Turn To You” earned her a place on #TeamKahn, meaning that the teacher will become the pupil once more as Monique looks forward to learning under Kahn Morbee’s mentoring.
