Dawie de Jager

Dawie de Jager (33) started out his singing career as a member of the successful Afrikaans rock band “Klopjag”, which he was part of for over a decade. From 2010 when Klopjag decided to take a bit of a break, Dawie also co-founded the Afrikaans country-rock band "Die Tuindwergies". A year later he immersed himself in the movie business, composing musical scores for big South African feature films. In between all of this he also started an orchid business with his parents, so that he could start building some security for his family. “Now I’m a stay-at-home dad during the day, and I work with flowers and music at night,” he laughed. Dawie’s rendition of the U2 anthem “One” in the Blind Auditions had Karen and Bobby delighted to see him, as they instantly recognised him from his “Klopjag” days, but it was Bobby – who admitted to stealing money from his mother as a youngster in order to buy a “Klopjag” album – that landed Dawie on his team.
