Gangs of Ballet

Five times SAMA-nominated, MTV MAMA Award-winning band, Gangs of Ballet is Durban-based comprising of three musicians and friends. Each accomplished musicians in their own right, the band’s members have combined their various individual tastes and styles to create a sound that is captivatingly fresh.

Their music, which boasts a winning combination of their vibrant energy and a host of musically intriguing melodies, cannot be pinned down to any specific genre but rather experiments with an eclectic mix of alternative, melodic, anthemic, electronic and dance.

With their combined wealth of talent, experience and creativity, these three Durbanites hope to make a quality contribution to South Africa’s growing music scene and it would appear that they are already well on their way to their way to doing just that!

Prime Circle

Since they first burst out of the sleepy mining town of Witbank some 11 years ago, South African rock sensation Prime Circle has been unstoppable. They stormed out of the gates with their record-breaking debut album in 2003, and have followed it up with a string of massive studio albums that have secured their place as the most successful rock act in South African history.

TiMO ODV

“I just woke up one day and decided that I wanted to be a music producer even though I knew pretty much nothing about music or music production” says gifted singer/songwriter/producer TiMO ODV.

This spontaneous desire has taken TiMO on a journey that accelerated with his signing to Universal Music in February 2015.  He launched himself onto the scene with his first single “Save Me” (featuring the luscious harmonies of Sarah Jackson), showcasing how his soul-stirring deep sound illuminates the magnetic power of his pop sensibilities.

Richard Stirton

No introduction needed for The Voice SA fans – he won season 1! He also released his debut album last year. Titled ‘Middle Ground’, it was recently nominated for a SAMA award, in the Best Rock category. Alongside his coach Kahn’s band The Parlotones.

Elvis Blue

With an average of 133 live performances a year, three platinum and one gold selling albums and a long list of top 10 hits to his credit, Elvis Blue is one of the most successful artists in South Africa.

He remains a rare breed in his ability to straddle both English and Afrikaans music genres with ease and relevance. With his unique blend of charisma and authenticity, Elvis’s shows are known for not only the perfect blend of well-known original hits and new music, but also for his comical and often whimsical storytelling that sweeps audiences along in a journey that is both personal and entertaining.

Daniel Baron

Daniel Baron is an award-winning, chart-topping singer/songwriter/producer with an astounding fifteen radio chart hits and five number 1s to his name. His latest smash hit ‘Children Of The Sun’ broke records and debuted on the 5FM Top 30 chart at the number 1 position. It was also the top selling South African dance song on iTunes for over three weeks in a row.

Baron’s voice and sound carry a distinctive flair and he is known for crossing over genres with an array of electro-infused pop-dance tunes, inspiring stadium-sized anthems and emotional piano ballads that have all taken the world by storm.

Jesse Clegg

Jesse Clegg is a singer-songwriter whose three studio albums have made the 27-year-old a platinum-selling success in his home country.

His latest album ‘Things Unseen’ debuted in the iTunes Top 10 albums chart. The latest single “Breathing” features a collaboration with one of South Africa’s hottest young acts, Shekhinah.

The son of iconic South-African musician Johnny Clegg, Jesse spent the first six years of his life on tour with his father. He has released six Top 10 singles and toured extensively throughout South Africa. He has been nominated for three South African Music Awards.

Gavin Edwards

His Blind Audition currently has over 800,000 views!

Connell Cruise

Connell Cruise’s rise in the music industry can only be described as meteoric.

His debut hit “Not Just Friends” took South African radio stations by storm and garnered him three SAMA nominations. He has since topped the South African charts with 10 hit radio singles.

Connell’s unique sound- coupled with his determination and relentless work ethic- grabbed the attention of none other than music industry titan, L.A. Reid. Connell’s deal with Island Records in New York City is considered the biggest and most significant record deal in South African music history.
