Who's the worst movie boss ever? We look at five.

This week, in your Sunday night movie, Melissa McCarthy abandons all bridesmaiding and ghostbusting to become the titular nasty in your Sunday night movie on M-Net, The Boss.

In honour of her role, weโ€™re taking a look at five more bad bosses of cinema.

Dr. Julia Harris, Horrible Bosses

Jennifer Aniston long ago proved she had more to offer than the riches-to-rags Rachel. She proves her acting mettle once more as one of the horrible bosses of the title who subjects the poor, hapless Dale Arbus to her unwelcome sexual advancements.

Franklin Hart, Jr, 9 to 5

Sexual harassment and sexism are treated more centrally in this seminal โ€˜80s comedy starring Jane Fonda, Lily Tomlin and Dolly Parton. The trio, continually pawed and passed over, dream up ways of getting revenge against their sleazy boss.

Katharine Parker, Working Girl

Sigourney Weaver defied aliens, but in this โ€˜80s classic itโ€™s Melanie Griffith who must defy Weaverโ€™s manipulative Parker: a boss so puerile she steals her employeeโ€™s ideas in order to fob them off as her own.

Gordon Gekko, Wall Street

โ€œGreed, for lack of a better word, is good.โ€ This is Gordon Gekkoโ€™s mantra, which gives you a hint to just how low heโ€™ll go. Michael Douglas delivers an Oscar-winning turn as the unscrupulous Gekko who will walk over anyone who gets in the way of him getting richer.

Bill Lumbergh, Office Space

Admin. Micromanagement. Words that make the best office workers shudder in their shoes. These are precisely the reasons the employees of Initech bemoan working for the infuriating Lumbergh, his fastidiousness leaving no room for inspiration.
