It’s always a good time to watch Star Wars, whether you’re watching it for the first or the fiftieth time. However, because the seventh chapter is being released on 18 December, there’s no better time to head to a galaxy far, far away.

That’s precisely why M-Net Movies is bringing you the Pop Up channel on 109 featuring the six movies in the franchise so far, as well as lots and lots of extra Star Wars' goodies.

Star Wars fans are amongst the most dedicated in the world, if not the most dedicated. If you don’t agree, then consider this example of fan mania: seven weeks before Revenge of the Sith was released, fans lined up outside the box office of Grauman’s Chinese Theater in Los Angeles.

However, Episode III was not scheduled to be screened at Grauman’s, even though previous chapters had been. Star Wars’ devotees steadfastly refused to believe that the theatre would not show the movie, believing that the staff was just trying to clear the lines.

On the day the film premiered, the staff of the ArcLight, a theatre about 2 kilometres across town, had to shepherd the fans to their movie theatre where Revenge of the Sith was actually playing.

Whatever else happens in December, we know Star Wars fans will make sure they're at the right time and place. Before then, make sure you tune into channel 109 for all things Star Wars and browse through these images from the trailer for The Force Awakens to ruminate over and set your mind wandering as to just what we can expect from the next instalment.
