The NCIS franchise brings a brand new addition to the family, with the second spin-off: NCIS: New Orleans.

Set it the sultry deep south, this new crime drama features some familiar faces. Golden Globe winning Quantum Leap star Scott Bakula plays Senior Special Agent Pride – a New Orleans native and former deputy sheriff with a turbulent family background.

Lucas Black - from The Fast and Furious: Tokyo Drift and Legion actor - also joins the cast, as NCIS Special Agent Christopher LaSalle. This young talent in the office is somewhat of a genius, having graduated magna cum laude. Family life is also not entirely blissful for LaSalle, who has an older brother with bipolar disorder.

Included in the squad is Zoe McLellan (Dirty Sexy Money) as Agent Meredith Brody, who specialises in interrogation.  Emmy-nominated The Shield star CCH Pounder, who plays primary medical examiner, Dr. Loretta Wade, also joins the cast.

The original NCIS launched back in 2003. Originally called Navy NCIS, the show was a spin-off of the popular JAG. During Season 2 the titled was changed to NCIS. Now in its twelfth season, the show is still going strong.

The popularity of the show led to its first spin-off, NCIS: Los Angeles, in 2009.
