Did you grow up in the '80s? Here's how you can find out.

There’s something about the ’80s that holds a certain appeal for those who lived through them. Even more so if you grew up in the decade of leg-warmers, big hair and the VCR.

It’s not that the ‘80s really had all that much to recommend it. After all, television was fairly limited, technology was primitive and fashion was positively cringe-worthy.

However, at the end of the day, those who grew up in the decade still look back fondly at the innocence it brought to our lives as we swaggered through life in our gaudy clothes, listening to our Walkmans and playing in the street until the sun went down.

With the return of The Goldbergs to M-Net Channel 101 on Saturdays at 18:00, we thought we would bring you a list of twenty things to remind you of the good old days and ask the question: How do you know you grew up in the ‘80s?

  1. You used to buy cassette tapes… and still have some stashed somewhere.
  2. You can still sing all the words to The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air.
  3. Girls wore cycling shorts under their skirts and felt stylishly sexy.
  4. You had plastic streamers on your handlebars and playing cards on your spokes for that incredible sound effect.
  5. You watched DuckTales (Woo ooh!).
  6. You can sing the entire theme song to Gummi Bears.
  7. Girls wore a ponytail on the side of their heads and boys had mullets. Both were cool.
  8. You saw the ORIGINAL Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles on the big screen… and still know all their names.
  9. A. Gear and stonewashed denim jackets… need I say more?
  10. You know the profound meaning of “Wax on, wax off.”
  11. You wore fluorescent clothing… some of us from head to toe.
  12. You believed the urban myth that hoverboards actually existed and parents were keeping them off the market because they were too dangerous.
  13. Don’t worry, be happy.
  14. You watched both Gremlins movies.
  15. You remember New Kids on the Block when they were cool.
  16. You know all the words to Bon Jovi's You Give Love a Bad Name.
  17. You just sang those words to yourself.
  18. You traded Garbage Pail Kids cards at school.
  19. You know the vital relationship between a cassette tape and a pencil.
  20. You’re still singing “Shot through the heart” in your head, aren’t you?
