Let's hear it for local film! This Friday, 28 April, sees the release of Beyond the River, an uplifting drama revolving around the lives of two men from different backgrounds who are brought together by their passion for canoeing.
Last week the movie's leads, Grant Swanby and Lemogang Tsipa, walked the red carpet at the Rosebank premiere. Joining them were Piers Cruickshanks and Siseko Ntondini, the men who inspired the film. Lalla Hirayama was also on the red carpet interviewing the director, actors, and their real-life counterparts.
Film fans have already been swept away by the local story, during a special screening of Beyond the River at National Movies Day on 31 March. At the Rosebank premiere, a few more fans were given the chance to watch the inspiring film before its nationwide release.
